Warframe Android Closed Beta Commences, Invitations Rolling Out in Waves

Digital Extremes Opens Testing Gates for Warframe on Android, Prioritizing Pre-Registered Players

The highly anticipated Warframe Android Closed Beta is officially underway, with developer Digital Extremes (DE) beginning the phased distribution of invitations to pre-registered players. This crucial testing phase marks a significant step toward the full global launch of the acclaimed free-to-play third-person shooter on the Android platform.

While the first wave of invitations has gone out, the closed nature of the testing means that participation is currently limited. However, DE has confirmed that if initial testing “goes smoothly,” subsequent waves will follow, prioritizing comprehensive feedback collection and platform optimization.

Key Beta Guidelines and Limitations

Players who receive an invitation via email must act quickly and participate actively, as access is not permanent. The Warframe team has instituted clear guidelines to ensure testers are engaged:

  • Access Revocation Policy: To maximize the value of the limited testing slots, DE states that access may be revoked from accounts that have been inactive for an extended period of time or have not partaken in the closed beta at all. Players are strongly advised to check their primary and junk email folders regularly.

  • Progress Wipe: All progress made during the Closed Beta testing period will be deleted when the beta concludes. Players start on a fresh account with no carry-over from their main PC or console accounts.

  • Current Limitations: The beta build has known restrictions, including the temporary absence of Voice Chat and Cross-Platform Play/Save features. These critical functions are expected to be fully integrated upon the game’s final release.

Feedback is a core purpose of this phase and should be directed to the designated Closed Beta forum page, allowing the developers to track and address bugs and performance issues effectively.

Device Compatibility and Future Expansion

The initial Closed Beta wave supports a relatively short list of high-end Android devices, necessary for testing the massive scale of the Origin System:

  • Confirmed Devices: The primary supported devices include the Samsung Galaxy S22 and above (including S23, S24, S25), Samsung Galaxy A54 and newer, and the Google Pixel 7 and later generations.

  • Future Waves: DE’s plan is to expand this list of supported devices as subsequent testing waves roll out, ensuring optimization across a wider range of hardware before the public launch.

The beta is expected to continue well into the new year, providing ample opportunity for late pre-registrants to receive an invitation. Interested players who have not yet signed up can still register through the official Warframe website.
