Extraction Warfare Arrives: CODM Introduces DMZ Mode and Street Fighter Crossover
Call of Duty: Mobile is closing out the year with its largest content drop: Season 11, the 6th Anniversary Update. Launching on December 11th, the final season of 2025 delivers a trifecta of content highlights, spearheaded by the highly anticipated DMZ: Recon extraction mode, a zany collaboration with Street Fighter, and a Battle Pass loaded with holiday rewards.
This update introduces a completely new gameplay loop that focuses on high stakes, player-versus-player-versus-environment (PvPvE) survival, and extraction.
The Main Event: DMZ: Recon Extraction Mode
DMZ: Recon is a full-scale, high-stakes extraction mode based on the sandbox experience from the main Call of Duty franchise. It is a permanent addition to the game’s core playlists alongside Multiplayer and Battle Royale.

Gameplay Loop: Players deploy in three-person squads to complete contracts, fight AI combatants and rival players, gather valuable loot, and successfully extract to keep their rewards. Failure to extract means losing all collected gear.

Maps: The mode launches with two distinct maps: the large, open-world Serpent Island and the compact, close-quarters Building 21.

Progression: DMZ: Recon features its own dedicated progression system, including faction missions, a Black Market for gear, and exclusive Completionist Camos earned by grinding mode-specific objectives.

The 6th Anniversary celebration is marked by an unexpected and fun crossover and the addition of a versatile new weapon:

Street Fighter Crossover: The collaboration with Street Fighter is integrated into limited-time game modes in both Multiplayer and Battle Royale. Players can find special abilities like the Hadoken and Shoryuken woven into matches, alongside new character-themed Legendary Operator and Weapon skins. The Multiplayer mode, “Shoryu and Hadoken,” specifically equips players with Prizefighter gloves and transforms them into Street Fighter characters after building up a rage meter.

New Weapon: The new weapon added to the free track of the Battle Pass is the SO-14 Marksman Rifle, a versatile weapon capable of semi-automatic and burst-fire modes, expanding the Gunsmith meta.
